Cold Tones Society has been organizing the annual Ropecon Painting Competition since 2022. In 2024, the competition was renamed the Cold North Open after updates to the format and brand of the competition. With the first editions of the competition held already in the 90s, it is a staple of the Finnish miniature painting scene.
